In this exercise, you are guided to reflect on a personal symptom history using Montezuma’s Reflection technique. By focusing on a symptom from your past, you are encouraged to delve deep into the experience and explore various aspects related to it. This exercise helps you connect with your mind-body connection and the biocompass within you.
As you close your eyes and take a deep breath, you are prompted to recall when you first noticed the symptom, what you were feeling, and the circumstances surrounding it. By stepping back in time and reliving the moment when the symptom occurred, you gain a deeper understanding of its impact on you. You are encouraged to explore your thoughts, emotions, energy levels, and sleep patterns during that time.
Moving further back in time to a point before the symptoms manifested, you are guided to visualize a time when you were symptom-free. By examining what was happening in your life, your thoughts, emotions, energy levels, and sleep patterns during that period, you can uncover valuable insights into the potential triggers for the symptoms.
As you return to the present moment and open your eyes, you are reminded that you are happy and healthy. The exercise encourages you to take about 15 minutes to reflect on the questions and write down your answers, helping you to gain clarity and awareness of your mind-body connection. Embrace this journey of self-discovery and look forward to understanding more about yourself through the biocompass and mind-body connection.
